Dr. Juliana Guarize graduated from University of Campinas School of Medicine, Brazil, in 2003. After taking her fellowship in anesthesiology at the University of Campinas she validated her medical degree at the University of Milan, Italy, in 2007 and get the specialization degree in Respiratory Diseases at the University of Milan in 2010.
Dr. Guarize focused her studies on interventional pulmonology and lung cancer diagnosis and treatment completing her specialization in prestigious centers in the USA and Canada.
Dr. Guarize is part of the Thoracic Division at European Institute of Oncology in Milan working with Interventional Pulmonology since 2011. Dr. Guarize is the director of the Interventional Pulmonology Unit at EIO since 2022. Under her direction, the unit provide complete diagnostic and therapeutic solutions in interventional pulmonology, pulmonary diagnosis and rigid bronchoscopies for stent positioning and laser therapy performing more than 1200 procedures per year.
Dr. Guarize’s focus is on clinical research on pulmonary interventions and thoracic oncology. Her main targets are diagnostic approach to the peripheral lung lesions, the diagnoses of thoracic pathologies and other malignancies. Many publications prove her efforts and creativity in this field.
Dr. Guarize is member of many national and international scientific societies in the field of interventional pulmonology.
