Christopher Lambers obtained his master degree in Internal Medicine in 2008 and in Pneumology 2013, both at the department for pneumology at the Medical University Vienna, Austria. In the same year he became a member of the lung transplantation program and advanced the interventional bronchoscopy unit at the Department for Thoracic Surgery at the Medical University Vienna (Head: Prof. Walter Klepetko). He reached the position as Associate Professor from 2018-2022. Since 2020, he is the Head of the Department of Pneumology at the Ordensklinikum LINZ/ Elisabethinen in Linz, Austria. His area of interest is the treatment of (pre-post) lung transplantion patients, pulmonary oncology and interventional bronchoscopy with the main focus on navigational bronchoscopy for complex lesions and small nodules.
He is an active member of the Austrian Pneumonology Society (ÖGP) and is currently leading the Expert-Group for COPD/ A1AT-Deficency/ Tabacco. His research interest covers all fields of interventional bronchoscopy. He serves as invited speaker/ chair for several international congresses.
