Dr. Ali Sadoughi is an Associate Professor of Medicine and has served as the Director of Interventional Pulmonology and Bronchoscopy at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore Medical Center in New York City since 2015.
His research focuses on advancing technologies for the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. Dr. Sadoughi has made significant advancements in peripheral airway bronchoscopy, enhancing early-stage lung cancer diagnosis and tissue profiling through innovative medical devices. He has pioneered the integration of ultrathin bronchoscopy with intraprocedural 3D scanning and advanced virtual and real-time bronchoscopy platforms, including robotic bronchoscopy with optical coherence technology and confocal laser endomicroscopy. His groundbreaking techniques also extend to novel particle-based radiation treatments for lung and mediastinal cancers, representing a new frontier in bronchoscopy-based cancer care.
Dr. Sadoughi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and Interventional Pulmonology, with his subspecialty training completed at Washington University in St. Louis.
