Arschang Valipour is the Head of Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and Director of the Karl-Landsteiner-Institute for Lung Research at Klinik Floridsdorf, Vienna, Austria. Dr. Valipour studied at the Medical University in Vienna and has specialist degrees in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Intensive Care Medicine. He was appointed as an Associate Professor of the Vienna Medical University in 2010. 

Dr. Valipours completed a long term research fellowship at the Department of Thoracic Medicine at the University College London Hospitals, London, UK. Since then he continues to perform research in the field of interventional pulmonology, diagnosis and treatment of obstructive airway diseases, cardiopulmonary physiology, and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Valipour serves on multiple advisory and data safety monitoring boards and coordinates research as principal investigator of clinical trials in the field of COPD, interventional bronchoscopy, and emphysema therapy. He previously served as a Group Secretary to the Sleep and Breathing working group of the ERS, he is a member of the European Respiratory Society College of Experts, and has been nominated as Fellow of the European Respiratory Society. He has been the Head of the CME program of the Austrian Society of Pneumology for several years, and was a member of the Executive and Congress Committee of the national society. He has published several articles related to Clinical COPD Management, Interventional Bronchoscopy, Sleep Medicine, and Lung cancer. Dr. Valipour is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of COPD, Journal of Clinical Medicine, and Respiration.
