Prof. Lorenzo Corbetta is an Associate Professor in Respiratory Diseases at the University of Florence, Italy. He is a leading expert in interventional pulmonology, having served as Past President of the Working Group of Interventional Pulmonology of the Italian Society of Respiratory Medicine and a Board Member of the Italian Society of Thoracic Endoscopy.
From 2008 to 2015, he directed the Unit of Interventional Bronchology at the University Hospital Careggi in Florence. He is also the Director of the Educational Program and University Master’s Degree in Interventional Pulmonology.
Prof. Corbetta has held key leadership roles, including Scientific and Website Director of the European Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (EABIP) (2018–2022) and Board Member of the Interventional Pulmonology Institute (IPI) of WABIP. Additionally, he serves as National Regent of WABIP and Visiting Professor at the Universities of Guangzhou and Chongqing, China. He is the President-Elect of the Italian Society of Thoracic Endoscopy (SIET).
His research focuses on interventional pulmonology, training and competence programs, and the diagnosis and endoscopic treatment of lung cancer. He has published over 100 medical papers.
